Creating Cultures for Curiosity - First grade students are curious and ready to become better readers! They look for connections and head into challenges with excitement. Reading ability is developed, independence is gained, and math concepts are explored through active learning and hands-on manipulatives. Curriculum is enhanced through technology integration and independent centers to reinforce learning. Individual creativity is nurtured in collaborative cultures, makerspace activities, and project-based learning.
2nd Grade
Growing in Ownership and Responsibility - A whole new world awaits second grade students! Through a variety of learning experiences, students grow in ownership and responsibility as actively engaged learners. Reading skills and comprehension are strengthened, math is explored through investigation and problem solving, technology skills are integrated in STEAM activities and basic skills in Google Apps and keyboarding are developed. Active learning and hands-on experiences, both individually and collaboratively, open a greater understanding and appreciation of the world God created.
3rd Grade
Establishing Independent Learners - Third grade students expand digital and critical thinking skills with one to one Chromebooks! As inquisitive learners, they use their knowledge base to ask questions and think about purpose and process. Participation in an active learning environment, fosters creativity and curiosity through the application of interdisciplinary techniques, collaborative strategies, and project-based learning. As a result, independence grows as they discover capability.
4th Grade
Applying Foundational Skills to New Learning - Fourth grade students are more confident as fluent readers, allowing them to effectively learn from research and written texts, as well as enjoy longer and more complex novels. They are curious and love experiencing content through hands-on learning as well as technology tools. Chromebooks are a resource to practice math skills, write, create, and collaborate. Students grow daily in their faith as they study God's Word, ask deep questions, and explore what it means to be followers of Christ.
5th Grade
Acquiring a Clear Sense of Interests and Abilities - Fifth grade students are independent and are developing a clear sense of their interests and abilities. They are effective collaborators who enjoy group work and peer relationships. They are more able to comprehend abstract concepts and ideas and apply this understanding to all subject areas. Fifth graders develop greater personal responsibility for organization, homework and studying, as they prepare for the challenges of middle school. Growing in their understanding of God's plan and His love for them, they develop a bigger picture of the story of salvation.
6th - 8th Grade
Experiencing Block Scheduling with Collaborative Learning - Middle school students build organizational skills and study habits as they experience multiple teachers who promote dynamic learning experiences for student success. They build Christian character to be a positive influence to all they encounter as they apply their faith and work within a safe, fair and healthy environment. Students journey through Ancient Civilization to current events to build awareness of culture and new ideas, and they explore math concepts through problem solving and reasoning skills. They explore relevant, real-world problems in an investigative approach with collaboration and discussion through project-based learning. Innovative learning, thinking and reflecting are woven throughout the course of the day for students to demonstrate and express ideas to make a better present and future
